JOURNAL
JANUARY 2025
01JAN25––It's New Year's Day and like most of the last few years I've resolved to not make any New Year's resolutions. But that's not to say I haven't been making plans or thinking (profoundly) about the year to come. Last year was a creative whirlwind as I launched my boutique publishing imprint Aquitania First Editions and published ADATMDH and brought its one-man musical counterpart to the stage for a one-off "world premiere" at a small theater in The Hague. Earlier today I started the 4th volume of Poemagraphy, my every-other-year poem-a-day project with the poem, Deborah, which follows the 4/16 line structure that I used for most of the 2023 poems, as I find it aesthetically pleasing. I'll soon be wrapping up the final revision of "A River Runs Wild," my still unpublished 2011 novel. I'm hoping to release it in the first quarter of the year. I also have a few short stories that I'd like to continue working on and perhaps will release my first collection of short stories later in the year. I'm looking forward to continuing my work with Abbott Chrisman, the director of my musical, and my accompanist Ron Aviv with the hope of doing more shows this year. So, that's my start to the new year, I'm looking forward to staying on point and keeping well disciplined with my writing, rehearsing and performing. And maybe dropping a few surprises along the way.
