Free Towels | The Dreamweaver

I had just arrived at the airport with my grandfather after a long-haul flight to Asia.

We were walking through the terminal when my grandfather said he need to use the toilet so I walked around browsing the windows of the duty-free shops.

I came to a bank teller's window and decided to enquire about a car loan, just to kill time and see what the conditions were.

I was greeted by an attractive Asian woman who appeared to be in her forties.

I told her I was interested in buying a new car and that I was planning on living in Asia for the next few years.

She told me that interest rates were four per cent but were negotiable. Surprised, I told the woman that I thought four per cent was very high and that I would be prepared to pay 2.8 per cent, to which she countered with three.

I thanked the woman and told her the offer and her willingness to work with me were much appreciated.

Just then, my grandfather appeared and asked what I was doing.

I told him I was getting information about securing a car loan and he looked at me with wide eyes as he reminded me that I didn't have a driver's license.

I said I had no intention of getting a loan, but just for applying, the bank gave a gift bundle of high quality towels and bed linens and seeing how we would need accoutrements for our new apartment, I thought it was a pretty clever way of getting some supplies without having to pay for them.

My grandfather loved the idea and said we should visit a few more banks and apply for loans to see what other kinds of free gifts we could get our hands on.

The bank teller then returned to the window and handed me a bundle of stark white sheets, duvet covers and bath towels, wished me a good day and said if I needed anything else to please give her a call.

Then I woke up.
