Grandpa's Haircut | The Dreamweaver

Writer: The DreamweaverThe Dreamweaver

I had just returned to Chicago after accompanying my older children on their flight back to Spain.

My grandfather was waiting for me in the lobby of the hotel where I’d been staying and I apologized for having kept him waiting telling him I’d just returned from my second flight across the pond in 24 hours, soon to be a third as I had come back to now accompany my grandfather back home with me to the Netherlands.

While we had some time to kill before we had to leave for the airport, my grandfather suggested we go have dinner downstairs in the hotel’s restaurant.

He asked me if I wouldn’t mind giving him a quick trim before dinner so I gave him a haircut as he sat in a chair in the corner of the room.

After I finished the haircut, my grandfather stood admiring my work, looking at himself in the mirror.

I observed he was rubbing his face and suddenly realized I had forgotten to clean up his face stubble and nape.

I apologized for the oversight and sat him back down on the chair which I had now moved to another corner of the room next to a floor lamp so I would have better lighting.

I proceeded to shave his face and nape with my electric shaver and he once again went over to the mirror softly feeling how smooth his was.

Then I woke up.
